Not to be paranoid........

 I can`t keep track of where the millions of dollars in funding (not to mention the donations) are going. I would hate to think that we are paying foster families 3 times more then any natural parent makes if they both stay at home with a child. I would also hate to think that we would spend more money to support a foster family then we would a natural family. This can not possibly be the case.
I recently read about a mother that was being investigated because her daughter`s teeth were examined at school and the shcool (surprise insert here) called CAS. The mother agreed that her daughter needed a dentist but could not afford one. The worker would not help and when pushed to help actually looked into the child`s mouth and declared her fine!!
Yes Ontario, we just paid someone to investigate dirty teeth, to humiliate and scare a mother and not offer an ounce of help or support.
We the Child Protection workers are here to serve......exactly who are they serving again?

So instead of helping families in financial duress we pay another family to take care of their children. That must be fantastic for the CAS books. Seriously, in this economy they must be having a field day.......
Then again we could not remove a child just because a family is poor? Most of my generation grew up poor. Boy we would have needed a lot of foster homes, without the interesting advertising of today I`m not sure we could have housed almost every child in Canada.
So they could not ever really explain that sort of mentality. We would help the family instead, put some resources in place, educate and help. Right??
It would make no sense at all to spend 3 times that amount on a different strange family and cause a child pain and suffering ...And so this brings me to an even greater issue. An issue that has truly bothered me to no end. Please tell me that we do not have doctor`s, nurses, workers and hospitals over medicating, diagnosing and hospitalizing children without a medical history or parental consent. Please tell me that no one is allowed to do something to my child`s health that could cause long term damage.
As a parent that is my choice, I know my child, my doctor knows my child. I have beliefs that I instill in my children. We do not have any medications in our home and I try to never take pills or any other types of medicine unless we have no other choice.
My family believes in organic and home remedies if possible. This is our right and what has worked for our family. A 22 year old social worker could not come and rip my children from home to push a doctor or hospital into medicating them. Right?
My God how has that happened? How does Derek sit at home knowing Ayn is being sedated? Again my pain for him grows.
