My hats off to radio stations, they seriously use freedom of speech without fear. I have listened in on many interviews done via radio and it is so candid and honest, so heartfelt that it is not possible to ignore.
It is well documented that a few reporters and lawyers have had children taken away due to their involvement in CAS cases. It is also documented that CAS has and will remove children when families reach out to the media and go public.
What a fear of bad publicity CAS must have. To return a child and days later apprehend the same child because of a news story is nothing more then shocking.
To remove a child in the middle of a birthday party is horrific. To threaten families using children as tools is disgusting.

Derek to attend IEP meeting for Ayn....

What a strange system we have, full of abuses of power. Let me get this straight.....
1) Ayn is autistic, she therefore is a special needs child. Derek has done nothing but fight for her rights within the school system. The school was not able to control Ayn so they made a class room at the back of a class for her, away from all other students. We are obviously well trained with special needs children.....
2) The school unable to control Ayn fights Derek on every level, they are if anything one of the causes of Ayn being abducted into a system of control.
3) Ayn goes missing for less then an hour, Derek panicked calls the police, Ayn is found and returned and everyone is happy. As I have quickly learned Autistic children do wander, this is a behavior...certainly not a reason to abduct.

I have heard to many stories now to believe otherwise, Ayn will most likely stay in a basement sedated during this holiday as well as the next.
Holidays are not a priority for any agency. Foster families have their own agenda`s and families and probably do not have time to cart children around or what ever else a visit on a holiday would entail.
Oh that`s right, sorry...it`s what`s in the best interest of the child. I forgot that it`s the right thing to do to leave foster kids alone during Christmas and any other holiday that might be of importance.
I don`t ever want to see a count of how many children have spent birthday`s without family. It would be much to high a percentage.

And so they lurk........

It has now been found that many child protection and social workers lurk in the backgrounds of facebook groups.. Groups that target apprehension issues.
I think it`s fantastic, what a way to voice your opinion. What a way to get your point across. I wonder if workers from Derek Hoare`s local child service agency are also reading.
It can be a great tool.......it can also be quite harmful.
It has certainly crossed my mind a time or two that the Hoare family may be prolonging the situation because of the negative media attention.
These agencies have been cast negatively many times in the past few years, people are beginning to see this faulted system for what it is. People from all walks of life are fighting back, being verbal and going viral with very harmful details pertaining to child protection cases.
Along with negative attention comes less support......with less support we start to see a decline in funding.....and that is not going to be acceptable.

4 Toronto CAS agencies have created a facebook group.....

As if the advertising wasn`t enough. Now the swamped , overworked and underpaid workers are running a facebook group!!
The administrators are hard at work, it takes approx. 30 seconds for posts to be deleted. I`m sure they thought of this before creating the group.
I only had to read one doc. to get the picture. The Doc. was about leaving a child alone for a short period of time. Did you know that there is actually NO LAW IN ONTARIO (directly quoted from said Doc.) that dictates a specific age for leaving children alone? Yet, now get this, you can be charged and investigated if you leave your child alone even for a short period of time if someone reports you. Yes, both statements were in the same document.

To visit or not to visit......

Seems to be such a hot topic and I`m not sure why. I have read everything possible on CAS supervised visits and they seem nothing but heart breaking to me.
I am not sure I could sit and visit with my children for an hour with someone taking notes. My God how exactly did we get to that point??
What happened in past cases to bring about a Hitler attitude to child rearing and visiting? Has no one thought of how a child might view this visit? How the child might loose respect for a parent? How a parent might feel helpless and lost?

Not to be paranoid........

 I can`t keep track of where the millions of dollars in funding (not to mention the donations) are going. I would hate to think that we are paying foster families 3 times more then any natural parent makes if they both stay at home with a child. I would also hate to think that we would spend more money to support a foster family then we would a natural family. This can not possibly be the case.
I recently read about a mother that was being investigated because her daughter`s teeth were examined at school and the shcool (surprise insert here) called CAS. The mother agreed that her daughter needed a dentist but could not afford one. The worker would not help and when pushed to help actually looked into the child`s mouth and declared her fine!!
Yes Ontario, we just paid someone to investigate dirty teeth, to humiliate and scare a mother and not offer an ounce of help or support.
We the Child Protection workers are here to serve......exactly who are they serving again?
